OUR STORY
A More Personal Perspective
In 2012, I cared for my mother after she was diagnosed with cancer at just 55. Within a year, the home I grew up in — once a place of comfort — became a barrier. Stairs, bathrooms, and everyday routines were no longer manageable.
That experience taught me what it means to be a caregiver and how important it is to have support during life’s hardest transitions.
A few years later, my wife and I moved across the country to care for her grandmother and aunt as they faced cancer and cognitive decline. Living with them, we helped with daily needs and were present during a deeply meaningful time.
Those experiences shaped the way I think about home. The right environment can support dignity, independence, and comfort. The wrong one can add stress and risk.
Sometimes that means adapting a home. Sometimes it means finding a new one. Either way, these decisions are about more than real estate — they’re about care and quality of life.
